My primary responsibilities at EllieMae included designing and developing eLearning courses that support the home mortgage and banking industry. Here I worked across departments to get courses proofed, QA'd, and implemented. I managed a number external resources including subject matter experts and narrators. I also served as the lead on multiple special projects that required managing multiple resources and tight timelines. Things changed fast and often. I worked on a remote team, spread across the country. We were responsible for maintaining a catalog of 60+ courses on a 12 month update cycle. I also facilitated teachbacks to support the continuing education of both my immediate team and our wider department.
Partnership HealthPlan of California
I worked as the first and sole eLearning specialist to implement an eLearning program. This required cultivating a cultural change in a company of 500+. I designed and developed primarily onboarding, human resources, and compliance eLearning. I also facilitated a multi-day new hire orientation. One of my favorite projects was developing and facilitating a Microsoft Office Superuser group. This group met regularly and was comprised mainly of administrative employees and concentrated on increasing the efficient use of the MS Office suite of products. I often worked on projects for other teams which required managing multiple resources across a variety of teams and third-party sources. These projects took various forms including instructor-led, virtual, and eLearning. I even made a couple short films while working here.
At RelayHealth I worked as a trainer for both internal employees and external clients. The best part of my role as an internal trainer was running a three day new hire orientation class. This required leading several sessions as well as booking managers, VPs, and executives as guest speakers, as well as managing all the other logistical challenges involved running such an event. In my time at RelayHealth I began work on moving the on-boarding program for client facing employees to an eLearning format in an effort to better support a remote workforce. This training included software setup and implementation as well as best practices to maintain HIPAA compliance. I also participated in a government contract, delivering software training to military personal both in person and virtually.
In this position I worked primarily on instructor-led training. Here I designed, developed, and delivered instructor led software training. The customer base came from the dirt-work sector of the heavy construction industry. Learners came from a wide range of experience levels from new computer users to various types of engineers. While at AGTEK I wrote and maintained their monthly newsletter and participated in the design, development, and implementation of their first eLearning program.
